GIRLIE UPDATE: The Golden Compass

I took a group of my library student workers and Aaron and Michael to see Mr. C's new movie The Golden Compass tonight. It's the first of three fantasy novels that my students read when they were young. I don't remember reading these novels, but then again I really didn't like reading back then, the way I do now. We all had a great time -- we ate pizza before the movie and grabbed coffee after.

As for the Craig... he could do without the facial hair in this movie!

Las Vegas and San Francisco 2007 Slideshow

Another year to meet my sister and her Ohana in Las Vegas. It's the only way I get to see my niece once a year. We stayed at her Club du Soleil timeshare on Tropicana Ave. and frequented the Orleans where Ho'e gambled, Circus Circus for Khyla and the outlet malls for Tita and I.

Half way through our trip, we caught a plane to San Francisco and stayed at the Four Seasons San Francisco. The location was perfect -- downtown near all the shops and a cable car ride to Fisherman's Wharf. It was Fleet week, lucky me, so I got to see the Navy ships cruise into the bay. (Where's the hot sailors!) We spent time with our Aunty Eleanor, Uncle Wes, cousin Charmaine and her husband Bert and son Kainoa, and cousin Darin. I also got to see one of my best friends Carrie before I left! I got to talk to Chaddy for a bit but didn't get to see him this trip.

Keala met Aunty Jennifer and Uncle Hoe (since it's Khyla's second visit to Elyria) and Ikaika got to meet them all for the first time. It took some time but Ikaika came out of his shell on the last day of their visit.

Since Jennifer, Hoe and Khyla are coming next week, we gave the pups a needed bath. They just loooooovvee that! (Here the sarcasm in my voice)

GIRLIE UPDATE: Smallville Season 6

I waited a bit to finally purchase season 6. Now that Lana and Clark are drifting apart I'm sort of losing interest. Thank goodness they introduced the Green Arrow, aka the fine-looking Justin Hartley! Way to go Lois!

Michael and I still watch the weekly episodes during my Thursday dinner break, but it's just not the same without Clana!

While Ikaika is happy just louging around in the shade, or taking a nap -- if he even goes outside at all! He's a couch potato like his mommy (that's me!)

GIRLIE UPDATE: The Invasion

So Mr. C. has a new movie out, The Invasion but I just can't bring myself to see it in the theater -- it sounds too spooky for me! I think I'll wait until it comes out on DVD...

I did watch Layer Cake which is so out of my movie range. Me, watch gangster movies? I must really love Mr. C. to endure the violence. I loved it! Now I wish I watched it with Aaron when it came out. But I said "no way!" then. Hey Sienna, stay away from my man, ha!

When Ikaika and Keala are good dogs, or if Aaron and I desperately need them to come back into the house, they get pigs ears, or a large knuckle bone as Keala is prancing around with.
