ADOPTION QUEST: To stop or do it again

Post from Twice the Fun, Double the Love

HAWAII 2013: Day 1 CLE-HNL

July 10, 2013 -Our long awaited trip home to Hawaii has finally arrived!  We only have one layover this time, in L.A.!
Aaron and I had lunch at Ruby's. Burgers and milkshakes, mmm!!
After 12 hours, we stepped out into paradise!

It took awhile for us to get our luggage and rental car.  The drive into Waikiki... oh we totally forgot what driving in traffic is like!  We reminisced on all the places we've been to as we passed them so the time passed faster than it took us to get to the hotel.
Now that view is what we're talking about!  Our lanai overlooks Waikiki beach and has a perfect view of Diamond Head.  We are heading out to dinner now...

HAWAII 2013: The Sheraton Waikiki

HAWAII 2013: Evening 1 A Walk down Waikiki

July 10, 2013 -Where the heck did the Curry House go!  No, no more Jack in the Box on Kuhio?!  This is not a good sign for us.  Well we ended up half way down Waikiki and decided to eat Thai food on our first night.
 Okole maluna!
It ended up being an excellent choice to eat at Keoni's.  Aaron's noodles was just hot enough for him and I had a lot of fried rice leftover.

We walked back to our hotel via Kalakaua Avenue.  It was packed with tourists and local entertainment.
Our home for the next 5 days -- Sheraton Waikiki along the beach

Some of the shops and artwork in our hotel's lobby.
We decided not to make it a long evening since it was technically 3 a.m. back in Ohio and we were dead tired.  Time to set our internal clocks to "Hawaiian time"!  Looking forward to a nice early morning...

HAWAII 2013: Day 2 Lunch with the Miranda's

July 11, 2013

Aloha Kakahiaka!  Breakfast at Wailana's at 6:30 a.m.  We walked along Kalakaua Avenue to check out the new shops.

Mmmm!  I had the corned beef hash and eggs special while Aaron had all-you-can-eat pancakes, eggs and bacon.  And don't forget the Kona coffee!

We walked back to our hotel via Kalia Road.  We passed the Hilton Hawaiian Village, Hale Koa Hotel and Fort DeRussy Park.
We were itchin' to go down to the pool.  It was 9 a.m. and the sun felt good!

Oh the pool water was chilly!
 Aaron opted for the jacuzzi
We met one of Aaron's San Diego friends for lunch.  Walked down Waikiki Beach to get to Duke's.
Aaron's FB friend Judy and her husband
Hawaii buffet... ono!  I loaded up on the kalua pig and cabbage with rice on my second and third round!
Aaron had the chicken katsu lunch plate with mac salad
Time for a nap!  Check out this cute Japanese tour bus.  Can you see the whale and it's tail sticking out on the top of the bus?  Tourists have the option to sit up front in AC or in back with the natural Hawaiian breeze.  Makes me wish I had a pass to board that puppy, or should I say calf?

HAWAII 2013: Evening 2 Dinner with the Chances'

July 11, 2013 - We are heading out for dinner with one of Aaron's Navy buddies who still lives here.  I'm excited because we are heading to The Yardhouse Waikiki. And you know what that means, right?

Aaron's friend Frank Chance and his wife Ana
Going to the Yardhouse means I get to eat my favorite Hawaiian poke stack and Thai chicken noodle salad.  I'm a happy girl!
What a fun day.  We are out of steam.  Good night!

HAWAII 2013: Day 3 It's Aloha Friday!

July 12, 2013
 Denny's and my loco moco
 Honu in the hotel waters
Zippy's for lunch with...
 Ethyn and Emelia
 and Tita Shanlee

HAWAII 2013: Evening 3 Dinner with the Komoda's

July 12, 2013
I'm so excited to see my childhood best friend Lureen and her husband Mike.  And looking forward to the ono grinds for dinner.

Holy smokes!! We had triple poke with rounds of drinks, garlic fries, kim chee fried rice, mochiko chicken and pork chops.  They will have to roll us out of there!
