Day at Finley with the boys and dogs

Mikey went on his first mountain biking ride with Aaron today while I hung out with the dogs at the park and read a book . It was a great day at Finley!

MOVIE ALERT: The Other Guys

Two movies just wasn't enough this week! I took myself to the Apollo after work and saw The Other Guys. Finally Farrell was back to his funny ol' self without being obnoxious. I'm not sure what was going on with Wahlberg! Good acting, he did not!

How cute, the whole college soccer team came out to see the movie! Thank God none of those tall boys decided to sit in front of me! Apollo, can you make fresh popcorn for me next time?

It's the last summer movie night for Laura and I. We saw the pre-screening of You Again. What a funny flick! Everyone loves the ugly duckling-turn-hot chick that gets redeemed and the nice guy at the end! What, that wasn't Megan Fox?

MOVIE ALERT: Going the Distance with Aaron

This time Aaron joined me to Richmond Heights to see the pre-screening of Going the Distance. Garrett and his friends were funny at times. They gave a little insight on guy's thoughts. Should you stay or should you go follow love, that is the question! I did! Oh I would think twice about getting a tan spray!

... and biking? I loved this movie! It's amazing what a little trauma can do in one's life. I truly believe it makes one stronger and life better. Italy and Bali is so beautiful! I can see Aaron and I traveling there.

GIRLIE UPDATE > MOVIE ALERT: Luchita's with Salt

It's my once a month girl's night with Megan! And this time we are going to see a movie too!

We met after work at Luchita's in Elyria. I wanted to join her with a margarita but thought I'd fall asleep before the movie starts. After dinner we headed over to Cobblestone to see Salt. Ms. Jolie was kick-ass. It was a delight to watch Megan react to all the action. I think I'll need to bring her to more movies and get used to it! Did you know in the book, Salt was a man? Good times Megan! Looking forward to our next outing!

MOVIE ALERT: The Expendables

Aaron met me for dinner after work. We ate at our favorite Oberlin bar the Feve.

Later Tina and Mike met us to watch The Expendables at the Apollo. It's a guy-flick that's for sure! All kinds of fighting and explosions. I'm glad Mr. Stallone is still kick-ass. I was nervous it would be an old guy trying to be kick-ass. Mr. Statham has always been a hot British fav of mine too!

GIRLIE UPDATE > MOVIE ALERT: Lottery Ticket

Laura and I found our way to Richmond Heights to see the pre-screening of Lottery Ticket with Bow Wow. We were one of a handful of non-blacks. Needless to say we didn't win any prizes when there was Hip Hop and Rap trivia. But we enjoyed our night out. Bow Wow is not a little boy anymore!

Pedal to the Point 2010 - Day 2

Mike, Casi and Tina's mom went to watch Aaron and Tina cross the finish line, or should I say, rainbow line. He did 76.5 miles in 5 hours 17 minutes.

Pedal to the Point 2010 - Day 1

Well it's that time of the year again -- Aaron is participating in P2P, and this time he and Tina are doing the Century 100-mile route on the first day. Last year they did the regular 75-mile route.


Cookie and I dropped them off and tried to find a place to park so we could see them start race off. We almost gave up but asked some volunteers if we could park in their lot until the racers pass through. Aaron and Tina was in good spirits when they passed us.

It's 7 a.m. and its not hot right now. Cookie and I are going to breakfast...

Aaron did 100 miles in 7 hours 14 minutes. And he's not hurting bad! Let's see how he is tomorrow...

Ikaika's discovery

My St. Bernard found a bee's nest in a bush in our front yard. Aaron found him jumping around oddly and discovered the swarm of bees attacking him. We managed to get him away and into the house while Aaron tackled the nest. I checked Ikaika for any stingers in his fur and watched his actions to see if he was alright. He was his happy ol' self in his crate and went to sleep. When we woke up from a nap I discovered Ikaika had a puffy eye! One battle scar for Ikaika! Oh and one for Aaron too.

Hope the colony has moved on and not lurking...

IUI ALERT: Flashy, hot flashes

It's my last day to take Clomid and I'm experiencing vision changes (there's a disco-flashy halo around everything for a split second) and hot flashes again. Thank goodness the weekend is here and I don't have to go to work feeling all weird. Since Aaron's bike ride is this weekend I'm going to hang out at home in the A/C and watch movies. Happy girl!

IUI ALERT: Another side effect

OK I'm experiencing a new side effect -- vertigo! Every time I would get up I felt drunk and would tip over to the right. I woke myself up fast by slamming into the wall this morning! Gosh I hope I can drive to work alright! Could be worse, knock on wood!

Happy 7th anniversary Aaron!

Well my day/week didn't start out well -- I woke with a sore throat again. I thought I got rid of it yesterday but it's back. I spent the day in a clinic trying to see a nurse since my doctor's out of the office this week. Thank God I don't have strep! But I need to get some rest and medicine in me to get better fast. My busy period is around the corner.

Aaron and my plans to get dinner at the LUXE is now on hold until I'm feeling better. We did go to the Olive Garden after the clinic. We celebrated a little over Dolcinis. I spent the rest of the day sleeping. Aaron played PS3.

IUI ALERT: I missed it again

So I called the nurse this morning hoping that I could take the blood test today before I start my Clomid cycle but she said I missed the testing period. I got scoldings for not calling in first when she was the one who told me the order was placed in the computer. I even thanked her for not making me drive to Cleveland to get the paperwork! I'm not too happy about that -- come on, I'm anal! How could I forget something like that!?! That's because she didn't tell me to call!

Please don't let this be a sign...

Grandma and Mr. Clooney

We had Grandma Chury and Uncle Bruce over today. We played games and barbecued some steaks and veggies. A good relaxing time!

IUI ALERT: Blood test

So I finally go to the Lab to get blood work done for my Clomid test and was denied! I thought the nurse told me the work order was placed in the system and apparently I was suppose to call when my monthly started. Hoo! Is this a sign?

IHOP, you hop, we all hop for pancakes!

Aaron and I joined Jen Starkey and Fiona for dinner at IHOP tonight. Jen had the craving for chocolate chip pancakes after her bike ride with Aaron this afternoon so we all indulged -- blueberry and buttermilk too -- as a side with our omelets -- spinach mushroom / steak / and country ham and hash browns. Guess who-had-what! Breakfast is awesome at anytime of the day!

IUI ALERT: Second attempt

So it begins again! I put in the call to the nurse and got everything set up, including my Clomid test. Wish us happy thoughts!

Catching up with Superwoman

Had a nice lunch with my good friend Peggi today. We caught up on things like our trips (she and the family went to France), the kids, the baby in progress, work and our future plans. We tried a new eatery in Oberlin called Fresh Start Diner. I hope it lasts longer than Quizno's!

St. Andrews and the Beer Kettle

I joined Cookie and Ken at the St. Andrew's Church mission fundraiser on Saturday night. Michael and Luis made the chicken and paprikash sauce to go over the homemade dumplings. It was delicious! Cookie also won the auction for one of Michael's cakes.

On Sunday, Aaron went on a bike ride with Tina. Later Mikey and I joined them for a late lunch at the Beer Kettle in Strongsville. Looks like Mikey might be joining the hot wheels club because the boys are going bike shopping tomorrow!
