I worked until 2 a.m. since Rachel was sick. After wrapping all my projects for the night I went on FB and discovered Michael was in the emergency room for kidney stones. GET WELL SOON!

KHYLA KONNECTION: Her new bedroom

In anticipation of our niece coming for the summer, I planned and Aaron executed a small remodel of our office. Aaron removed his huge weight set and moved it into garage storage. Then he painted the room blue with white trim, and moved the desk by the window so the twin bed can go against the wall. I started and will continue to go through all the junk we/I've accumulated over the years. It's a big task to sort what stays, gets trashed or will be donated. I want to keep everything!

GIRLIE UPDATE: Jane's Junior recital

Went to Oberlin early to attend Jane's violin recital. She is so amazing! I wish all of you could see (and hear) her play!

GIRLIE UPDATE: Avatar Blu-Ray

Sam came over to watch Avatar tonight. We both got emotional when the humans attacked nature. And incredibly happy that everything worked out in the end. Mr. Worthington was sexy in blue too!

Ikaika only showed up for pizza, and Keala hammed it up for a picture.

KHYLA KONNECTION: July Vacation

After researching flight prices and hotel availability, and asking for vacation time, it looks like Khyla and I are meeting my sister in Boston, Massachusetts in July. Actually we will probably spend the night there so Tita can get some rest before driving the New England coast to Stonington, Maine. There we will spend time with Ho'e, Bernard and Keali'i in the quaint fishing town for four nights. We head back to Boston for our own girl's vacation for three nights. It's the 1st time visit for all of us so it should be fun. (A stopover doesn't count, right?) Jen will visit her friends there too.

Of course all things will come to an end when I come back home alone, and Tita and little Tita return home to Lanai'i.

GIRLIE UPDATE: Coriolanus filming

G's next film is called Coriolanus based on a Shakespearean tragedy. He will be playing the commander of the Volscian army, Tullus Aufidius, opposite one of the Fiennes brothers as the main character. G should be in Serbia by now to begin shooting.

What! The production of the next Bond movie has been postponed indefinitely?! What am I going to do without James Bond?!

KHYLA KONNECTION: Plus one

It seems one of Ho'e's friends Keali'i is joining us in Cleveland and with Ho'e to Maine.

KHYLA KONNECTION: Da tickets were bought!

After many revisions of the vacation plan, my sister is NOT coming to Cleveland with Khyla and Ho'e in May. For her to come just to help them settle down here and in Maine was just too expensive. So it looks like my niece and brother-in-law will be braving the airways together with one stopover in Detroit before arriving here. Ho'e will hang out with us for a couple days before setting off again to Detroit and on to Bangor/Stonington, Maine, where he will be lobster harvesting for the rest of the year.

If he's up to it, we can see an Indians game on Wednesday. But we are definitely going to Cedar Point on Thursday! Maybe we'll hit a brewery or two for dinner. He'll have a chance to see Khyla settled in and where she'll be hanging out with us over the summer.

I kinda sad I won't see my Tita...

Zumba and Urban Fitness

Aaron and I joined Tina, Mike and Casi at the Urban Active Fitness Club in Crocker Park this afternoon. They wanted to show us their new gym -- very sleek and shiny! Tina, Casi and I did the Zumba class while Aaron and Mike worked out in the free weights area. Later we met up and did some free weights together. All that workout made us hungry!

So we drove to Fat Head's Brewery in North Olmsted and had some delicious sandwiches and yummy beers. Yep I had a sample of their Blueberry ale while Aaron had his usual pint of Voodoo Monkey milk stout.

We parted ways and decided to do some shopping since we were in the mall area. It's 5 p.m. now and I'm exhausted! My bed is calling me...

MOVIE ALERT: Clash of the Titans 3-D

We met Tina and Mike for dinner at Daddona's then headed to Crocker Park. We grabbed a drink at Champp's then settled in to see Clash of the Titans 3-D. It was exciting to watch, although it didn't have the best 3-D effects.

I at least got to see Mr. Worthington in action! The boy needs to work up his legs!

I woke up yesterday with a slight fever and a sore throat. Lucky me, the desk schedule was fully covered so I took a sick day. I'm feeling a bit better today but still tired and lethargic. I think one more day of rest would do me good!

Cavill's next movie Dawn of War has been renamed to Immortals. It is also known as War of Gods. Shooting has begun in Canada and the movie should be out in theaters November 11, 2011. (11-11-11)

I can't make a night of Tudors since we don't have the Showtime channel at work. So I have to wait to go home and watch! Oh I think I'm feeling sick all of a sudden...

I went into Oberlin early to attend my student worker Sam's senior recital before work. I met Michael and Luis there. Sam is so amazing! I knew she was a very talented singer but she knocked her speech out of the park! I'm proud of you!

MOVIE ALERT: The Last Song

I was in a crazy mood and went to see The Last Song instead of clean the house. It was cute and a bit cheesy -- more high school-y than I like. I laughed and cried so I guess it was good overall. I liked it. OK I thought the boy was cute! Young love...

I met Michael and Luis at the movies this afternoon. We went to see HTTYD -- Michael's first 3-D experience! It was just as fun and exciting as the first time I saw it! Then we went out for dinner and drinks at Mulligan's in Avon. Good times!

Oh lordy, it happened again! One quit, another is taking this month off and a third wants to take next month off. This needs to stop! I just sprouted a full set of white hairs!

KHYLA KONNECTION: Ohio summer

It looks like my niece is staying with Aaron and I over the summer! Tita and I are looking for summer school options and sports activities for Khyla while she's here. She'll be arriving during senior/commencement week so I'll be taking vacation then. It'll be just us two until Aaron comes home from OKC the following week.

I'm looking to spending time with little Tita! She's of age to enjoy shopping, manicures and pedicures, and going to the movies! Keala and Ikaika will be happy to see her again. And this may be a year for season passes to Cedar Point too!

Barky Easter!

A nice day spent with the in-laws. Cookie and Ken took Aaron and I out for brunch at IHOP before Aaron went to work. Later I went over their house for an early dinner. Kyle and Becky joined us too. I had to work that night but at least it was just a half day. I wonder what my Ohana did back home in Hawai'i?

Adeva and the Feve

It's a tradition! Every other month Aaron and I have our hair cut at the same place and the same time at Adeva Salon and Spa in Oberlin, then we head out for lunch. This time we had brunch at the Feve. I ate blueberry cream cheese pancakes and Aaron had a breakfast burrito mojado. I think it's the best pancakes I've ever had! And burritos are Aaron's favorite! Ono!

He's on his way to work, and I'm off to do some major food shopping! Ikaika needs his cottage cheese and I need my spam!

Not many of my desk attendants worked during spring break so I ended up taking only Tiesha out for dinner and a movie. First we stopped at Quaker Steak and Lube for some wings and magna fries. Tiesha's never been to one so she was amazed at the car memorabilia and sports on the flat screens. Then we headed to Cobblestone to see Hottub Time Machine. I wasn't expecting much but the movie was hilarious! We had a good outing tonight!
