GIRLIE UPDATE > MOVIE ALERT: Life as We Know It

Oh la la Mr. Duhamel! And Mr. Lucas! What a cute story! I actually cried a lot. Kristen and I had a fun night!

A day off to landscape

I took the day off to do some gardening in the backyard and to try and use some of my comp time I've been racking up. Thursdays seem to be a great day for days off since I have student supervisors and experienced attendants working back to back. So my plan... dig out all those weeds and pesky berry bushes that overrun the other plants and don't produce fruit. Then divide and transplant the Peonies and other plants. And last, add more soil and mulch to prep for the "w-word".

Of course, it works out that I got tickets to a pre-screening tonight! I can't wait to see...

Slow Train Cafe and BW3

I had a good meeting with my student supervisors this afternoon while Aaron and Mikey went mountain biking and Tina participated in another marathon. The Cafe was nice but packed so we ended up sitting outside.

Later Aaron and I met up with Mikey and Tina to go dinner at BW3 and watch the UFC fights. You know me, I brought my library book! I even remembered to bring my mp3 player too, to block out the nose crunching and yelling.

A nice day of work and play!

Smallville Season 10 premiere

I have decided to watch the final season of Smallville. It will be exciting to see Clark become the Superman we know and love! I'm sad because I don't see Lana coming back. I think it's all Lois now. What, no Chloe?! I hope the storyline doesn't get too crazy and complicated...

Fat Heads Friday

After some afternoon gardening, I met Michael, Luis and Greggor for drinks and dinner. Always a good time and conversation! But now I have to go home and watch...

Smallville Season 9

I'm sort of bummed I can't borrow Season 9 in time before Season 10 begins! So I plan to watch the 4 last episodes online before the Friday premiere. Man, I don't know what's going on! It's the season of Zod...
Clois?
Cholie?

On your mark, get set... three weeks!

Now that the desk schedule is settled (hope I didn't just curse it!) I finally made myself a training schedule. With the desk always being busy I have to remind myself to stop what I'm doing and train my workers when they come in, and in three different levels -- new hires and the basics, the returning crew and reminders, and student supervisors and extra duties. I've always focused on just the newbies and forget that the rest of the crew need attention too. My goal -- a balanced desk crew this semester!

I also scheduled my breaks. Seriously, I needed to do it! I've stayed at the desk helping patrons and newbies and missed my small window to break. Many times I wait until 10 p.m. when the next experienced attendant is scheduled! All of you know, a starving Lisa is a bitchy Lisa! And it doesn't help with my 12 noon breakfast-4 p.m. snack-8 p.m. lunch-12 midnight dinner diet! I end up not eating when I get home and then get hungry right before I go to sleep. It throws off my already difficult living schedule! I'll work on my diet next week.

Wish me luck on my training duties!

Doggie Doo and the Apple Festival

It's a family day! It took me awhile to get ready but we finally managed to get out of the house this afternoon. We took the dogs to Oberlin for their annual Doggie Doo Festival. Dog owners bring their pets to socialize and vendors and shelters display their wares and dogs to adopt. They even have an agility course and a parade! As usual Keala and Ikaika were a hit -- the polar bear and Beethoven! Aaron and I were so proud of them -- Keala for not barking at the other dogs and Ikaika for not being so scared when a swarm of people come to pet him. My babies are the best! Unfortunately I forgot the stinkin' camera and didn't take pictures of my babies in action. Boo!

Later Aaron and I hung out with the rest of our Elyria community at our annual Apple Festival. We went for dinner and dessert. There was a one-man-band playing... he was hilarious!

Back to Smallville mania!

It's a Smallville marathon!

I borrowed the entire season 8 to watch, or should I say re-watch, since some of them seem familiar to me. I forgot how I can watch 9 episodes right in a row!

And how hot Mr. Welling and Mr. Hartley is! A nice way to spend the weekend.

I still have to watch season 9 before season 10 begins next week!

My hubby's back and you're gonna get in trouble...

... hey ya, hey ya, my hubby's back! (It's based on a song people!)

Aaron and his biking friends headed home earlier than planned because they were running out of money. Me and the dogs were happy to have him home!

It's Aloha Thursday

no work 'til Sunday, do-do-do-do do-do-do-do-do-do...

What a long week of work! I knew it was going to be tough without Aaron at home but add gym time with San on Monday, a union rally on Tuesday, a printer training session on Wednesday, kickboxing on Thursday, and closing training sessions during the early mornings -- a woman will start feeling her age!

Ikaika! Let mommy sleep in!!

Out walking the dogs

Jen Starkey and Fiona joined Keala, Ikaika and I on a walk around our neighborhood block. It was a nice afternoon for it! Unfortunately we couldn't make a day of it -- I had to go to work early for our department meeting and a long night of training.

MOVIE ALERT: Takers

Michael, Greggor and I went to see the Takers at Crocker Park this afternoon. This movie reminded me of the Italian Job so I liked it.

Mr. Walker is so fine looking in a suit!

After the three of us hung out at Border's over coffees and caught up on what we did in the summer. Fun times! Greggor had to go to a dinner so Michael and I went to Sorrento's and Luis met us there. A very nice day with my guy friends!

Aaron does Moab

Aloha to my hubby who's taking a trip west with his biking buds. They will be driving through tornado country to Utah and spending a week mountain biking the beautiful mountains of Moab. Stay safe and take plenty of pictures! Keala, Ikaika and I will miss you! (and your morning coffee, ha!)

I survived the first week of school...

...but barely! I put in some long hours in the library as well as at home. Its going to continue next week but will be a bit harder since Aaron will be out of town. The dogs will be waking me up for the morning feeding and attention since he will not be around. As well as expecting me to do the evening chores as well. I'm feeling tired just thinking about it!

Oddly enough, I'm thinking of putting a few hours at the library today (Friday). I have 32 laptops to re-image and its taking me forever!

Introducing... the next Miss Hawaii

My niece Emilia singing "I Need You Now" by Lady Antebellum

IUI ALERT: It's a no-go

I thought my back was hurting from doing a day of gardening but it was because I got my monthly. Aaron and I are talking about our options which include doing IVF. We'll take a couple of months off while we take care of work and vacations. Perhaps we can begin again at the end of the year.

Last weekend of the summer

Today was haircut day! After Aaron and I had lunch at the Feve. They were still serving brunch so we didn't have our usual lunch choices. Instead we had different omelettes with fresh ingredients. Ono!

Since the weather turned cold, we went home for a short nap before heading out with our friends Tina and Mike. We drove across Cleveland to the east side and to the Willoughby Brewing Company. Good food and beer!

Later we headed to their house to watch a movie. A fun and relaxing night out with good friends!

IUI ALERT: Countdown to test

It looks like my monthly is late again. Probably because of the hormones I took. But it could also mean the IUI took! I need to wait until next Wednesday to take the test. All my girlfriends have sent their positive energy my way, including some fertile ones! I hope we were successful this time!

GIRLIE UPDATE: Happy birthday Jen!

I wish my best friend Jen a beautiful, relaxing day today! Miss you! Kisses to baby Adam!
