IUI ALERT: Second consultation

We finally made an appointment to see a fertility specialist as referred by my doctor. Dr. Attaran suggested we try doing something more drastic due to my AGE, like an IVF but we were not prepared to do that at this time. We were looking forward to doing an IUI - no drugs on the side or major surgery. Plus we could afford it. IVF would mean drugs and hormones, and $$$$! I didn't want to walk away yet again without setting something up so we decided to still do the IUI, but with a Clomid cycle. It will stimulate my already normal ovulation but will maybe kick multiple eggs out so our chances would increase slightly. For all you know, it might still be a problem of mine that I produce eggs -- just old 43-year old dead ones. The specialist talked about getting donor eggs too. Boy did I feel old!

Since Aaron is leaving next week for a 3-week training session in OKC, I will be going in next month. I hope the pills don't make me more "emotional". I pity everyone around me! Cross fingers!

KHYLA KONNECTION: Summer Fun

Tita and I have been looking around for summer programs Khyla can attend while she's here in Elyria. She is taking two online classes that she'll doing in the library while I work. It seems all the sports programs are either for the wrong age group or during times when I am working. I didn't want to depend on other people to rearrange their schedules to truck her here and there. Aaron's schedule is crazy enough for him to not help with it! I guess I'll be playing tennis with her after work/school and Aaron will take her biking in the neighborhood or the parks on his days off. We will do a bit of gardening and cooking too. To round it off, we will visit our public library for some magazine reading and book and movie rentals.

Don't feel bad for her! She'll be going to movies all summer, have Cedar Point days, a camping trip or two, and at least one rock concert, one Broadway series performance and sports games to attend. Not a bad summer, I think!

GIRLIE UPDATE: Mani's and Pedi's

Cookie and I had a girl's day -- got the spa treatment for our hands and feet (I burned my feet in scolding hot water!), met Becky for lunch at Dave and Busters, and did a bit of shopping before heading home for a nice nap. A nice, long nap...
