July 20, 2013
We woke up to a swim race from Chun's passing our house to Waimea Bay.  Awesome!
My family came to visit us on the Northshore.  My sister and niece arrived first.  My mom and aunties showed up the same time Aaron's Navy buddies stopped by on their way to town.

HAWAII 2013: Evening 10 Sansei dinner

July 20, 2013
After a brief nap, Aaron, Kyle and I are on our way to Waikiki to have dinner with my family.  Kyle's going to hang out at Duke's and grab a few drinks.
Oh how nice, a full rainbow from the mountains towards the ocean.  You can only see half in the picture.

I'm excited to eat sushi and seafood at Sansei in Waikiki.  I'm hungry!  Since my sister's reservation went through the GM, we got two complimentary appetizers to try -- Hamachi Carpaccio and Cajun Seared Wahu Sashimi.  Wow, interesting favors!
Aaron actually tried both appetizers and liked them, especially the Wahu because of it's sauce.  Yay!
There was two more appetizers -- shrimp dynamite (our favorite) and Agedashi.  Aaron had the seafood pasta, Mom and Ethyn shared miso soup, and shrimp and vegetables tempura, Khyla had shrimp tempura, and Aunty Peggy had an Ahi salad and California roll.
My sister had Foie Gras musubi (a little of mine) and I had Sansei's ramen, and rainbow roll.
Oh we ate too much!!  But loved every bite.  Thank you Tita for getting us together.  I'm not looking forward to the long drive back to the Northshore.

HAWAII 2013: Day 12 HNL-CLE

July 21, 2013
Aaron and I cleaned and packed up early in order to spend a little time with my mom and sister before our afternoon flight back home.
 Goodbye North Shore!  Goodbye Haleiwa!

Goodbye Dole Plantation traffic!  Goodbye Schofield Barracks traffic!
What happened to Da Bus system?  When did it become The Bus?  So... plain and un-Hawaiian.
When we got to the hotel and everyone was out somewhere.  Khyla and her Kauai cousins were at the beach and Mom and Ethyn where at the pool.  Aaron decided we were cutting it close to heading to the airport and returning our rental car so he didn't join Khyla at the beach as they planned last night.
Finally!  Some waves finally showed up on the north and east shores the day we go home!
We got to see Khyla before heading out.  Uncle Aaron will miss her.  Thank you Tita for everything!  We couldn't find my mom but ran into her on our way to the parking lot.  I hope my Mom had a good vacation with us.
There was a bit of traffic on Nimitz Highway to the airport.
But we returned our rental car, checked in our luggage, went through security and grabbed some lunch before our flight to LAX.
Aloha Oahu!!  And Aloha to my ohana.  I miss you already!
 Here we go!

4th Mohican MTB 100 - Finished 100k

A big shout out to my hubby Aaron and his pal Bud who finished the Mohican 100 (62 miles) strong at 8 hours 38 minutes, despite not much training before the race. A good time for the him and his mountain biking crew. High school buddies Jay and Dave joined in the fun too.
