We were very lucky to find a sailor who escorted us on board because tours were not offered.  We were on the way to see where Aaron worked in combat division and the bridge when we were escorted out of the ship because the current crew was coming on for the next event.  It was an honor to be on the RJ-57 one more time.

HAWAII 2013: Evening 9 Waikiki and Ala Moana

July 18, 2013
Food and memories at Gordon Biersh at Aloha Tower, Honolulu

After we dropped off Cookie, Ken and Kyle to Waikiki while Aaron and I did some shopping at Ward.  We ended the day at Ala Moana for gift and food shopping.  Oh and dinner.  I finally got my chicken curry from the Curry House.  Ono!
It was a long ride home to the Northshore.

HAWAII 2013: Day 10 The Hawaiians are coming!

July 19, 2013
Portuguese sausage omelet and strong Kona coffee

From right to left: Niece Khyla, sister/cousin Shanlee, Mom Maile, nephew/cousin Ethyn, Aunty Peggy, sister Nalani, and niece/cousin Mykala (missing: niece/cousin Emelia who went to a girls day out with friends)
We are back at the Sheraton Waikiki where my sister and Mom is staying.  But they got a nice suite.

Tita, Mom, Aaron and I checked out the Leahi club lounge upstairs.  The 360 degree views were spectacular and the free pupus and drinks were even better.

It was a beautiful day so Aaron and Khyla went to Waikiki Beach to catch some waves, while I took Ethyn to the pool.

Ethyn had a laugh with Aaron who wrestled with him.

HAWAII 2013: Evening 10 Jimmy Buffet's

July 19, 2013
Since we started off late, the wait was too long at the Yardhouse.  We ended up at Jimmy Buffett's above Macy's.  I wasn't sure Mom would like it, sitting right next to the stage.

But Mom actually loved the atmosphere, enjoying the music she recognized and watching a group of ladies from the bar dancing in front of us.  We had a great time.

Aaron and Kyle had a few beers before calling it a night.  The view was clear and peaceful.
