Concert alert...

After 10 years of waiting, I finally got to see Madonna in concert! Aaron and I drove to Detroit, MI in the freezing weather and got lost getting there. Too much construction. But we finally made it and she made us wait an hour before she started her show! Lucky I love her so much to forgive her and not walk out like some old farts did!

GIRLIE UPDATE: Flashbacks of a Fool

Thank God for mother-in-laws that are in charge of the AV collection at the public library! I asked Cookie to purchase D.C.'s new movie Flashbacks of a Fool for me since my own library at the college couldn't. It was an interesting movie. Found out where his tat is other than his arm...

Tell me, does all British blokes go skinny dipping with each other when they are young? This is the third movie I've seen this year where the boys go swimming naked together... Like Aaron would go swimming naked with his... OK, bad image! Delete, delete!

GIRLIE UPDATE: Quantum of Solace

I am so excited! Aaron is taking me to dinner and a movie and the premiere movie tonight is James Bond Quantum of Solace. Finally, I get to see my ex-favorite actor do his thing as James Bond again!

...and did he delivered! I liked it a lot! Got to love a well dressed man who can kick ass! But I have to say I loved Casino Royale better! Quantum could have added more half-naked D.C. or at least the infamous saying...

Now I wonder how many times I will go to see Quantum... at least one more time with Michael!

GIRLIE UPDATE: Smallville Season 7

Gosh, I almost forgot about season 7 coming out. Again, without the Lana and Clark storyline, I'm really not as interested as I was in seasons 1-3. But the set was on sale so Aaron bought it for me for my birthday. I must say it looks like Clark is nearing his time to be Superman... does this mean the end is near for Smallville?

GIRLIE UPDATE: Rocknrolla

I was so looking forward to seeing Rocknrolla and Mr. B. on the Halloween premiere night but I was unfortunately out-of-town and busy with my family in Hawai'i. I waited until I returned home to see it, only to realize the movie was no longer showing in the theaters. Now I'll have to wait until the DVD comes out.

I'm heartbroken. Several more months without the Butler?

Las Vegas 2008: Introducing... Steinlager

We met Jennifer, Ho'e, Khyla and David in Las Vegas. And they brought a cute bundle of joy named Steine all the way from Arkansas! It was a long wait but he's finally making his way home to Hawai'i.

We stayed in Tita's Tahiti Village condo. Steiny stayed a night in the Four Seasons Las Vegas and the Pet Resort and Spa.

San Diego 2008

We met Jennifer, Ho'e and Khyla in San Diego, CA. We stayed at the beautiful Four Seasons Aviara in Carlsbad, San Diego, CA. Aaron and I drove through Mira Mesa and Miramar to see what the houses and subdivisions looked like. We hope to finally move back west in the next couple of years! Tita went to Sea World. We also drove through La Jolla and can only dream of living there!

GIRLIE UPDATE: P.S. I Love You

I finally got to watch P.S. I Love You with the hunky Mr. B. I cried through the whole movie! It was so romantic! All you girls should own this movie! One day, I will make it to Dublin!

Yep, I made a good choice in replacing D.C.

GIRLIE UPDATE: Nim's Island

I was very happy to be escorted by Aaron, Michael and Eugene to see the premiere of Nim's Island starring my man, Mr. B. I must say they were not too pleased watching a kid's film. What can you say when the majority of watchers were groups of women with no children in tow? Tell me, were they going to see Jodie Foster or a particular Scottish hunk? You know my vote!

OPERA ALERT: The Coronation of Poppea

Michael and I went to see my library student Meghan perform in the opera "The Coronation of Poppea" at Hall Theatre, Oberlin College, Ohio. She sang the part of Ottavia and I was very impressed. It was my first Monteverdi opera so the music was different, but still interesting to me.

GIRLIE UPDATE: Out with the Craig, in with the Butler

It's a sad day when one finds out her favorite actor got engaged. But all is not lost...

I borrowed a DVD from Michael called Timeline thinking Mr. Walker could easy my spirits but I fell in love with Mr. Butler instead!

Just don't talk about them in front of you-know-who!

Actually my hubby is a good sport and makes the best of my girlie obsessions!

First it was Tad Hamilton in Win a Date..., then Smallville's Clark Kent, before the new hunky James Bond...

Strange, since the Butler is not blond, and his hair was not clean cut the way I like it in the movie. It must have been his sexy Scottish accent that pulled me. I watched Dear Frankie and Lara Croft and thought the actor was cute but never really knew it was the same guy in all the movies. Yum! Michael and I have been watching all of Mr. B's movies... yes, a Butler marathon!

I didn't realize he was the Phantom in Phantom of the Opera. I had a hard time watching it the first time since I was so used to the original recordings. But I got used to his singing real fast. I even watched the gory 300 that Aaron wanted me to watch with him last year. Now it's one of my favorite movies!

Shoot, Michael and I missed seeing his new movie P.S. I Love You in the theaters! I guess I'll have to wait until it comes out on DVD.
