2014 PLAYA DEL CARMEN: Breakfast buffet

Since we were one of the first guests coming for breakfast I got to videotape some of the food bars.

I wasn't able to videotape the made-to-order omelet station or the Mexican inspired bar.

2014 PLAYA DEL CARMEN: Day 4

Well time to go back to the real world.  This vacation was too short.  We grabbed some breakfast, walked around a bit and checked out.

 

 

I thought the checkout line would be long in the morning.  They didn't have checkout via the room TV.  Apparently no one is leaving the resort today except us.  We actually had time to relax before our shuttle came to pick us up.

Check-in was fast.  The agents were only concerned about the overweight luggage then anything else.  Going through security was very easy too.  We didn't have to take off our shoes, or in my case, slippers. We had time to grab some lunch and purchase some duty-free chocolates before boarding. 

 

Aaron is so lucky.  I upgraded him to the exit row and he got the whole row to himself.  I couldn't even sneak to sit by him since I didn't pay.  I had the seat behind him.

Home Sweet Home!  As soon as we touched down and turned on our cell phones they went off the hook with messages.  It was quite painful to be internet-less for 4 days!  I thought the internet was free at the hotel but I was wrong.  We probably could have afforded it -- when they quoted $30 per day you think "that's crazy!!".  Now that I think of it they probably quoted Mexican$30 pesos which comes out to US$2.50 per day!

 

Playa del Carmen was beautiful!  The vacation was what Aaron and I needed after such a hectic beginning of 2014.  I think we are ready to tackle summer now!

Concert alert... Lady Gaga

The day is finally here!  I bought these tickets in January!  Aaron and I arrived at the Q early for once.  We got great seats.  We waited an hour for the first act.  And a total of 2 hours before Gaga came on.

The first opening act was Hatsune Miku, a 3-D hologram of a Japanese character.  I was mesmerized by the whole effect.

Next came Lady Starlight, a techno DJ who has collaborated with Gaga several times.  I hit the bathrooms before Gaga comes on while Aaron endured the constant techno beats.

The wait was worth it!!  Ms. Gaga is a very talented singer and entertainer!  I'm a little peeved because I took a lot of video using my camera and they all came out crappy.  Boo!!

2014 PRAGUE: The summer vacaion is booked!

So we were planning to join Tita on a 2-week vacation in Italy but she decided to help my mother fix her home in Pepeekeo instead.  Since Aaron and I got the bug to go to Europe now, we toyed with the idea of going on a bus tour versus going out on our own.  I ended up booking a 5-day trip to PRAGUE in the Czech Republic!!  Aaron and I are so excited!
